 Curriculum Vita

PROFILE

I am a positive, goal-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills, capable of teaching in a variety of environments, and interacting successfully with people of all ages and abilities.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I approach teaching in several ways.  First, I believe that depth in a subject area is more significant to a student than skipping stones along the surface in an attempt to cover a multitude of subjects.  Second, I want to pique the curiosity of my students in such a way that they desire to learn more about a subject beyond the classroom experience.  In my mind these two approaches go hand-in-hand.  Last, I believe that treating students with respect and compassion creates an atmosphere for learning that is interactive, conducive to true learning, and stimulating for both the student and the teacher.
